Shape Machining Ltd has recently completed a significant order of automotive assembly and checking fixtures for a major supplier in the UK automotive industry.

The fixtures were designed and manufactured completely in house at the Witney facility to customer specification.

Managing Director, Peter McCool, said “Our ability to understand our customers’ requirements and then complete the whole design and manufacturing process is helping to establish Shape as an important player for the supply of specialised automotive fixtures.

This area of the business is growing as our customers increasingly understand that we are not just another machining company. Our ability to offer design and engineering support to our customers gives them the confidence to place their complex fixture assemblies with us, safe in the knowledge that we will deliver.”

Shape plans to develop the range and complexity of the automotive fixtures it offers before moving into the supply of aerospace tooling fixtures.

Shape has multiple seats of Catia for CAD design and the team of designers and engineers is constantly expanding to keep pace with the increased demand.

The Engineering team at Shape works quickly to understand the customers, often very specific, requirements and then designs, machines, assembles and inspects each fixture prior to sign-off and delivery to each customer.
