Jonny Clinker has come back to Shape as Operations Manager. He took on the role at the start of 2026 and looks after production planning, signing off jobs before they're released to the shop floor.

Where it started

Jonny first joined us in 2017 on a year-long industrial placement as part of his automotive engineering degree. He spent that year on the shop floor running the 5-axis machines, blocking up stock and carrying out non-destructive testing of pattern moulds, working alongside our pattern makers and ex-Formula One engineers. He went on to finish his degree with a First.

Six years on the engineering side

From 2019 to 2022 Jonny was a Design Engineer at Williams Advanced Engineering. He then spent three years as a Project Engineer at Fortescue, before coming back to Shape this year.

What it means for customers

Jonny knows how a job runs on our machines and has spent years on the other side, designing parts and running engineering projects to someone else's deadlines. If you've got work running with us and want to talk timings, he's a good person to speak to on +44 1993 226900 or info@shape-machining.co.uk.
