SHAPE delivers complex prepreg carbon composite parts to customer specification.

Aerospace and motorsport carbon composite parts are traditionally thermoset epoxy based prepregs laminated into carbon moulds that are made off CNC machined epoxy tooling block patterns.  Parts are either monolithic or carbon skinned around a lightweight core and oven or autoclave cured at up to 135⁰C.

At temperature, the thermoset matric material polymers undergo a chemical reaction to cross link. This process is irreversible and the resultant carbon composite part is “set” in the shape it was formed into at that temperature.

SHAPE can supply either structural or cosmetic carbon fibre composite parts specific to customer requirements.
